Learn about the Concept of CCUs.
What are CCUs?
CCUs stand for ‘Concurrent Users'.
It is the total maximum number of users who can stream from Eagle 3D’s Platform simultaneously.
What is their Location?
Any users from anywhere in the world.
What happens if the number of CCUs is exceeded?
They would be placed in a queue list until a new spot is open (i.e. until one of the connected CCUs disconnects so his spot is available for the next queued person to take it).
Example :
If you are hosting a party in your home, and your living room can comfortably fit 10 people at any given time.
It does not mean you can invite 10 people to your party. You could invite 50 people,
but you can only have 10 people in your living room at the same time. Some people might leave the living room to go to the kitchen, or go home early, and that's when new people can come into the living room.
As long as you don't exceed 10 people at any one time, you're good.
Think of Eagle's service like your living room party.
Eagle might have hundreds or even thousands of games that people can play, but it also has a limit on how many can be played at the same time - that's the maximum CCU value.
So when a customer picks their CCU value, they're essentially deciding on the size of their 'virtual living room'.
Let's say a customer picks a CCU value of 100.
This means at any given moment, up to 100 different people can be streaming games from this customer's account.
These people could be anywhere in the world, and they don't have to be the same 100 people all the time.
Just like at the party, as some people stop playing (i.e. leave the living room), others can start (i.e. enter the living room), as long as the total number playing at the same time never exceeds 100.
What happens if more than 100 people try to play at the same time?
Just like if an 11th person tried to enter your living room during the party, they'd have to wait.
Eagle places these extra players in a queue, and they can start playing as soon as a new spot opens up - (i.e. when someone else stops playing).
