Setting Up EL Launcher

Set up the EL Launcher on your computer and stream your Apps from your own Hardware.

Overview

After subscribing to the Pay Per License plan and downloading your EL from the New Control panel, you should set it up on your Computer and start streaming your Apps from your Hardware. Follow the instructions below to complete the setup and learn how to auto-start the EL upon every Windows login.

Prerequisites

  1. Activate the Pay Per License plan from the New Control Panel and purchase the number of Licenses needed.

  2. Download the EL (i.e. the zip file) from the New Control Panel to your C: Drive.

  3. Make sure there is enough disk space on your C drive as the App will be stored in C:\0.apps folder

 

To determine the needed space for the App, follow this rule:

The Required space = zipped App size + extracted App size + the biggest available extracted App size.

Machine requirements

  1. A powerful machine/ VM with a GPU** is required.

  2. A Windows OS images.png (Windows 10, 11 or Server).

  3. A good Internet Connection.

** All GPUs are supported but some Apps may Not Stream from a machine with an RTX 2080.

Warning: Running 4.27 Unreal Engine App in an AMD GPU like rx580 8GB will make the App crash or get an Amf related error.

Instructions

The following instructions will guide you to:

  1. Set up the EL.

  2. Start the EL automatically upon every Windows login.

Note:

Install the Unreal Engine 5.4 (backward compatible) prerequisites from here.

Install 7zip from here.

Setting up the EL

In your Computer :

  1. Go to “Control Panel\System and Security\System

  2. Click on “Advanced system settings

  3. Click on “Environment Variables

  1. Select each path and click “Edit”. (See image below).

  1. Click ‘'New’'

  2. Add a new entry “C:\Program Files\7-Zip'' (i.e. installation folder where the 7-zip software is installed).

  1. Click OK in all the Control Panel applets.

  2. Restart the instance.

  3. Go to C: Drive on your Computer to the EL.zip. (previously downloaded from the New Control Panel to the C: Drive).

  4. Extract the EL.zip folder. (It contains a config_EL.json file and an EL.exe file) (See image below)

 

  1. Collect your apiKey and userName ( follow this document : Getting API Key)

  2. Open the config_EL.json with Notepad (See image below)

  1. Paste the apiKey in the config_EL.json file (“apiKey”: “ “ )

  2. Paste your userName in the config_EL.json file (“userName”: “ “)

  3. Save the file.

  4. Open the EL.exe file.

  5. A terminal window will appear. Wait 1 to 2 minutes (i.e. the time to connect the machine to Eagle 3D’s system until the message “Ready to serve pixel streaming“ appears).

Now you have finished the EL Launcher setup successfully!

To check the success of your setup, you should:

Starting the EL automatically upon every Windows startup

  1. Open Task Scheduler from the start menu.

  2. Create a task from the right side panel.

  1. Enter a name for the task. From the Triggers Tab, select “At log on

  2. Select “At log on of any user“.

  1. Go to the Action Tab and click on ‘'new’'.

  2. Browse and select the EL.exe file.

  3. In the “Start in“ box add the folder path where the EL.exe exist.

  1. Click OK

Now the Binary EL will Auto-Start every time you log into Windows!

Notes

 

  

 

Warning

If you see the error below while streaming your App in the Browser, the stream should be working still.
