This document is a tutorial on how to close a Tab upon losing visibility of it.

This feature was designed to reduce Streaming time to save usage.

Opening/switching to another Tab on your Browser, automatically closes the App (i.e. once the Tab of the App is not visible).

Preparing to execute instructions

For this document, you should:

  1. Access the Control Panel

  2. Enable the Pixel Streaming plugin Enable the Pixel Streaming plugin

  3. Package your App Package your Project from Unreal Engine

  4. Select an App from STEP1 in the Control Panel Select an App from your Control Panel

  5. OR Upload an App Upload an App on your Control Panel

  6. Select/Create a Config Select/Create a Config from your Control Panel

  • To complete this guide, your working environment must meet all the requirements above. If you have not completed any of the points, follow the link to the appropriate instruction and complete it first.

Go to : Control Panel → Step 2: Select a Config → Edit → Session.

Step 1. Enable Close Tab On Losing Visibility

Click Save Steps to enable ‘Close Tab on losing Visibility’ from the Old Control Panel.

This feature is particularly useful for users on the Pay Per Minute (PPM) plan, as it helps reduce streaming time and save on usage. [Select the PPM plan here].

If the 'Close Tab on Losing Visibility' and any other session expiration settings are disabled in your Config, the app can stream for extended periods without disconnection. This YouTube video demonstrates 10 hours of continuous streaming showcasing that our system has no session limits.

If a disconnection occurs, it may be due to a crash or network issue. Please contact Support for assistance in resolving the problem.

For uninterrupted streams exceeding 10 hours, consider switching to an Enterprise plan and ensure a strong, stable internet connection.

Overview

Opening a new Tab in your browser while streaming your app will automatically terminate the application.

Instructions

Step 1. Sign in to the Old Control Panel

Login to the Old Control Panel.

Step 2. Select your App

In the Control Panel:

  1. Navigate to: Step 1 : Select an App.

  2. Select your App from the drop down menu.

Step 3. Select/Create your Config

In the Control Panel:

  1. Navigate to: ‘Step 2 : Create a Config’.

  2. Select your Config from the list.

Step 4. Access the ‘Session’ Tab

  1. Navigate to: Control Panel > Step 2: Create a Config > Edit.

  2. Click ‘Session’.

-Click ‘Save’ after every change you make.

-Click 'Broadcast' if your App is opened in another Tab to instantly apply the changes there.

7. Run your App

Step 4. Switch to the Youtube Tab

Click on the Youtube Tab.

Notice how the App closes immediately.

Step 5. Run your App again from the Control Panel

Step 6. Open a new Tab while on your App

(i.e., by clicking the Play App button) and not by pasting the app link into the browser's address bar.

Step 8. Navigate to the 'YouTube' Tab

Click on the 'YouTube' tab and notice how the application terminates immediately.

Step 9. Relaunch your app from the Control Panel.

Step 10. Open a new tab while streaming your app

  1. Keep your App running.

  2. Click '+' to open a new Tab.

  3. Notice how the App automatically closes as soon as you press '+'.
