Allowing Microphone from Desktop

-Using Chrome Browser

Always use the latest chrome browser version. For more details, check this document.

1. Play your App from the Control Panel

2. Click on the ‘site permissions’ icon

Sometimes, instead of the ‘site permissions’ icon, there could be a microphone symbol or a wide 'Microphone in use' bar.

Whether you get the ‘site permissions’ icon or the ‘Microphone symbol’ or the ‘Microphone in use’ wide bar always click on it.

3. Enable Microphone

-Click on the radio button

The ‘site permissions’ icon indicates that the website is either requesting or has been granted certain permissions by the user. By clicking on the icon, you can adjust these permissions for the specific site.

-You can also:

1-Press on the tiny arrow

2-Click the radio button

4. The bar below might appear, refresh or reload the page

At times, you might already have permission to use microphone but it could be blocked.

In that case, unblock it as showed in the below screenshot.

To check if the page is collecting data or not, reopen the ‘sites permissions’ icon. It should say ‘Using now’ under Microphone. (see screenshot below)

Enabling the Microphone

1. Run the game

-On the Control Panel, navigate to: Step3: Generate URLs > Play App.

-Or, paste your app’s URL in the Browser’s address bar.

2. Click the ‘Tune' icon

At the top left of the browser's address bar, click the ‘Tune' icon.

The "site permissions" or "privacy settings" icon allows you to view and manage the permissions a website has, such as access to the camera, microphone, notifications, location, and other security-related settings.

'Tune' icon: Indicates whether a website is requesting or has been granted specific permissions. Click it to adjust site-specific permissions.

3. Toggle on Microphone access

Unblocking Microphone permissions

At times, you could already have permission to use Microphone but it could be blocked.

To unblock microphone permissions, follow these steps:

Method 1:

-Click the ‘Tune’ icon in the address bar.

-Click Site settings'

-If the microphone is set to 'Block,' change it to 'Allow.'

-Refresh the page to apply the changes.

Method 2:

  1. Click the Microphone symbol from your Browser’s address Bar.

  1. Click ‘Continue allowing https://connector.eagle3dstreaming.com to access your microphone’ (See image below).

  1. Select your Microphone from the Menu.

  1. Click ‘Done’.

Resetting Microphone permissions

To reset the permissions in Chrome:

  1. Click the ‘Tune' icon on the left side of the address bar.

  1. Check that you’re allowing access to the Microphone.

  1. Click 'Reset permission'.

  1. The page will request permission to access your microphone.

  1. Click ‘Allow this time’ or ‘Allow on every visit’ then refresh the page or click ‘Reload’ to apply the updated setting.

Selecting ‘Allow this time’ will prompt the page for microphone permission the next time you open the app.

Verifying Microphone data collection

To verify if the page is collecting data, follow the steps below:

Method 1. Checking Usage status

  1. Open the ‘Tune' icon.

  1. Check the usage status under 'Microphone'.

Method 2. Checking Microphone permissions from Chrome settings

  1. Navigate to Chrome Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Site settings, then Microphone.

  1. Make sure 'Sites can ask to use your microphone' is toggled on.

  1. Under ‘Allowed to use your microphone’, make sure the application’s domain is on the list and your permissions will automatically update.

  1. Pop-up Notification: Prompt asking for permission to use your microphone with options to ‘allow’ or ‘Block’.

Note

As of late September 2023, the ‘Tune' icon replaced the ‘Lock’ icon in the google chrome’s address bar. More details here.

Regardless of the microphone icon, symbol, or notification displayed, always click on it.
